Why come back?
By ANTHEA McGIBBON

WHY do you even bother…
you flew past me and soared,
not remembering who built your nest,
and never mindful of where your waste
would land.

Anthea McGibbon

So now your wings are clipped
by the edges of the clouds
you thought you were destined to rest on
… you are forced to crawl

Why now crawl to my cave
where its filled with the mess
you dropped all over
and from The entrance
I so long struggle to keep clean…

Do you come to make it cold,
or is it to block my fire?

We’re still friends,
but understand
it can never be the same
as my time to soar has come
and all I can provide
is passing shade from my wings

Alas seek the Creator
as I did. for a brighter vision
as I got …
on how to make something
out of nothing — shelter…

Your friend for life still
